Travel Guide: Paris, the City of Louvre and Light
Planning a dream trip to the city of lights? You’re in luck! Our team just got back and brought back tons of tips. Below, Beachwaver Co. Creative Director Emily and Lead Designer Crystal break down their favorite bites, must-see spots and tips for your best trip ever.
1. Carbs Don’t Count in Paris
This is rule number one! For an authentic taste of Paris, stop at our favorite Germain for pan au chocolate, croissants and cappuccinos! The best part of Paris is there are amazing cafés around every corner. Le Consulat is a charming French café in Montmarte. The café is historically known for having an impressive 19th century guest list of Vincent Van Gogh, Picasso, Monet and Sisley. Break from Parisian delights with brunch at LouLous’s. Located in the vibrant Latin Quarter this trendy Australian inspired café offers tasty vegan dishes and delicious fresh pressed juices.
2. The Eiffel Tower...See it More Than Once!
If you ask us, the Eiffel Tower is worth multiple trips at different times during the day (i.e. sunrise, sunset AND midnight). Want a different view? Take the side streets on Rue de L’Univerite and Ave de La Bourdonnaiss. This charming corner gives you a view of the Eiffel Tower and the beautiful architecture all in one shot (make sure to bring your camera)!
3. The Louvre: How to See Mona Lisa
Pro tip: to beat the crowd, buy your ticket online for a morning or evening slot (Mondays and Fridays are even better, as the Louvre stays open late). Once the foot traffic dies down outside of peak hours, you’ll get face time with Mona
4. Wander the Streets
(“Midnight in Paris” Style)
Leave the maps (and phone) in your purse! The absolute best way to get to know Paris is strolling through the streets. The charming, winding cobblestones and classic architecture truly make this a romantic city that begs to be seen sans technology!
5. Just a Little Summer House:
Palace of Versailles
This historic castle is adorned with gold embellished rooms and a Hall of Mirrors filled with gorgeous window light—making it a must-see (and must Instagram!) spot. It has been listed as a world heritage site and contains 2,300 beautiful rooms. Before you go, read up and watch some of the films featuring this unique location like Marie Antionette. This brings the Palace to life and gives more magical memories.
Remember—if you have an all-black or all-white Beachwaver, it’s dual voltage, meaning you can take it with you to Paris (and anywhere in the world!). All you need is a plug adapter!Shop the Mini On Set Pro Brush or the Beachwaver Dual Voltage.
