In 2019, Beachwaver launched our college ambassador program, the Campus Wave! Each month, campus reps get a box full of Beachwaver goodies to help spread the word about The Beachwaver Co. on their campuses!

Below, meet
Liezel Alvarez who is studying at College of Southern Nevada!

What is/are your favorite Beachwaver product(s)?
I’m definitely obsessed with my Beachwaver S1! It’s my first ever Beachwaver product and I am so in love with it. I used to struggle when it comes to curling my hair because I have a very long hair but I swear this curling iron saves me a lot of time and made my life easier when it comes to curling my hair. It’s truly a game changer. I can now curl my hair effortlessly with the Beachwaver Curling Iron. I also love the beach-waved curls it gives to my hair.

Another favorite product of mine from the Beachwaver are the Good Vibes Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner! I used to have a lot of hair loss with my old shampoo and conditioner, but when I started using this I got a lesser hair loss and my hair grows stronger and more straighter than ever. I love that it’s both vegan and I am obsessed with the smell. It feels like I’m at the beach whenever I use these two.

What is your favorite part of being a member of Beachwaver’s Campus Wave?
My favorite part about being a member of Beachwaver’s Campus Wave is when I got to make new friends with other amazing women from different school and states (Let’s be friends! Follow me on Instagram @liezelannn), I got to try all the new products of the Beachwaver, I got to share with my friends and family how amazing all the products of the Beachwaver are, I learned to style my hair with the help of Ms. Sarah Potempa and the whole crew. This program helped me grow as a content creator. It helped me gain self-confidence and self-esteem. Being one of the Beachwaver Campus Wave made me realize that you don’t need to have a lot of followers to start being an influencer as long as there are people who believe in your potential, then you’re good. I must say every part of being a Beachwaver’s Campus Wave are all my favorite.

What do you expect to be doing 10 years from now?
10 years from now I hope I’m a licensed physician. I am currently taking my pre-med course which is Nursing, but I always wanted to be a doctor. I love helping other people especially people who are sick. I love being in a medical field because it’s a lifelong service to others.

What is an obstacle you’ve faced, and how did you get through?
It was 4 years ago when my parents told me that we are moving here in the US. I was doing great with everything in our country with my closest friends and my family. I already know what I want to do for the future. I got plans and even a timeline on things that I wanted to do. I mean I’m thankful for the opportunity that I got to start over my life and the opportunity to live here in the US, since a lot of people are dreaming to go here. It’s just why it happened when I already figured out what I wanted to do. So, when they told me that we are moving here for good I got scared because all of my plans will not work out the way I planned because we’re moving to a different country, a totally different place where I don’t know anyone, where everything around me is new and I got to start over my life. I was so scared to step outside of my comfort zone because I thought what I planned before was already enough. But little did I know God has a bigger plans for me. I was so lost when I first got here. I have no idea where to start and what should I do because I was scared that people here might not like me. As I got comfortable with the environment, I was able to gain my confidence back. 4 years after, I already understand why all those things happened and I will always be thankful for that experience. It taught me a lot of things.

What is your life motto?
My life motto is to always be kind to anyone. I always remind myself to be kind to everyone. Even though they did me wrong, I always choose be kind and patient with them because they might be struggling something they’re not talking about. We should always be kind no matter how bad things get or no matter how much pain this world gives us because there are still good things and good people worth living for and that we should never give back the pain that we experienced to anyone.

 How do you define success?
For me, success is not defined by how much money you make or how much money you have. It is not defined by the goals you’ve achieved too. Success are more than just the money and power. For me success is when I wake up in the morning with a smile in my face, knowing it’s going to be a great day. It’s about being happy with what you do and being contented with what you have.

What’s the craziest hair trend you ever rocked?
I haven’t tried something crazy in my hair. Whenever I get my hair dyed it’s always just dark brown or don’t dye it at all. But I think the hair trend that ever rocked was having a full bangs. When I was child I always had a full bangs. I would say it’s my signature haircut when I was a child.

As a Campus Rep, Liezel was offered the opportunity to donate product to her charity of choice!
I am donating to the Shade Tree Organization. They provide safe shelter to homeless and abused women & children.
