Beachwaver’s Top 10 of 2019
As we prep for a new year (and a new decade!), we’re looking back at the wild ride that was 2019! From new product launches to tons of awards and press, to international expansion, here are some of our favorite moments that defined the year.
1. Chris Appleton Kept Us All Up-To-Date on the Latest Trends Using the Beachwaver
Starting with glass waves in early 2019 and ending with big, bold, bouncy waves this winter, Celeb Stylist Chris Appleton was a trend-setter all year long, and he carried his Beachwaver with him everywhere he went to demo the easiest way to achieve all his trend-setting looks!
2. We Turned 7
Seven years ago, our founder Sarah Potempa sketched out her idea for a rotating curling iron that would help people create their dream hair at home—giving them the confidence to conquer their day. In the past seven years, we’ve grown from a small, family-owned business in Illinois to a globally-distributed hair tools company—expanding to Mexico, Canada, Europe, and Australia!
3. All Three Sizes of the S-Series Launched in Australia
The Beachwaver S.75, S1, and S1.25 are now all available on www.beachwaver.com.au! To celebrate the launch (which our Aussie friends had been eagerly DMing us about for months) back in February, part of our amazing team flew across the world to host a party! Everyone down under must have been super excited because we SOLD OUT our first week!
4. Reese Witherspoon Named the Beachwaver a “Beauty Product she Can’t Live Without”
When People Magazine asked Reese which beauty products she swears by, the Beachwaver was the one and only hair tool to make the list! “I can do my hair in 20 minutes using this rotating curling iron. It creates the most perfect, round curls that I comb out for a blown-out look,” she shared. Total fan girl moment.
5. We Launched our Make Waves Hair Care Collection
After years of research and development, we launched our very first collection of hair care in June! Make Waves contains a shampoo and conditioner, purple shampoo and conditioner, Braid Balm Pre-Braid Prep, and Shubie Surf Beach Spray—all formulated with our innovative HIx: Hydro + Ionic Alpha Bond Multiplier™ that strengthens hair. We’re super proud to say that all the products in the collection are vegan and cruelty-free, plus the bottles we used are recyclable and made from sustainable materials!
6. We Launched a Fragrance Line
Shortly after our Make Waves launch, we released fragrances matching the aroma experience of all our hair care products (genius, we know)! Our current collection includes Bondi Beach Day, Bali Beach Night, and Polynesian Pink Sugar…which one is your fave?!
7. We Launched an Affiliate Program and College Ambassador Program
We <3 our Beachwaver fans, and this year, we wanted to give back. So we spread the love by launching an affiliate program AND a college ambassador program,
creating a community of Beachwaver fans who have access to exclusive deals and product launches, are featured on our social channels, blog, and website, and earn a commission for promoting their favorite tools and products! 8. We Launched Reparative Hair Care and Brought Damaged Tresses Back to Life
Something magical dropped on beachwaver.com this year…our Reparative Collection—a shampoo, conditioner, and pre-shampoo foam trio that acts quickly to help repair damaged hair. Featuring the most active levels of HIx of any of our hair care formulas, these life-changing, anti-aging products make your strands stronger, softer, and more manageable. We fell in love with this collection, and, based on your feedback, you did too!
9. Our Beachwaver Pro 1.25 Launched in Sephora
We know we have a big family of Sephora Beachwaver Babes, so it was an exciting day for everyone when we launched our brand NEW Dual Voltage Pro 1.25 at Sephora this fall! Beauty insider? You can shop the Pro here!
10. We Won SO. MANY. Beauty Awards
O, The Oprah Magazine gave Good Vibes Moisturizing Conditioner a Fall Beauty O-Ward for “Best Conditioner for Dry Hair,” the Beachwaver earned another The Knot Beauty Award for Best Curling Iron, Shubie Surf Beach Spray won an HOLA! Best in Beauty Award, OK! Magazine named our Reparative Shampoo and Conditioner their “new go-to for healthy hair” in their Fall Beauty Awards, Allure chose our Coast Pro styling iron as one of their “best flat irons for every budget,” and our Bali Beach Night fragrance as one of the the “best new perfumes our editors are wearing this fall,” US Magazine named Braid Balm one of the “best hair, makeup and skincare products of 2019,” Glamour added the Beachwaver to their list of the “best curling irons for people who can’t curl their hair,” Mashable called the Beachwaver “#1 for hair challenged,” we were one of Reviewed’s "Best Hair Styling Tools of 2019."
