How I Keep My Hair Hydrated in the Winter Months

By Campus Wave ambassador, Sereniti Forkey

I love the winter season and how cozy it can be. However, the cold months can be harsh on hair! During this season is when I experience dryness, especially at my ends.

I have curated a simple hair care routine that hydrates my hair and makes it feel healthy. I tend to wash my hair once or twice a week - that is what works best for my scalp. Here are my hydration hair care routines:

TREATMENT:

I create a ‘treatment’ bun. This is usually on day 4 or 5 hair when I have no other option but to slick it back for the day ahead of me. I apply a generous amount of Beachwaver’s Bring Balance Organic Argan + Marula hair oil to my scalp and then to my ends. Once I rub the oil through my hair and massage it into my scalp I slick my hair back- you can slick your hair back into a bun, a pony, a ponytail braid, or even a claw clip, whatever you are feeling. If I have any stubborn baby hairs or fly-aways I go in with Beachwaver’s Epic Flex Styling Gel. This is a really nice gel because it does not leave my hair feeling crunchy after I just applied treatment into my hair.

THE WASH:

At the end of the day when it is time to wash the treatment out of my hair, I gently take my hair down and brush my hair with a wide tooth comb. Followed by washing with my favorite shampoo and conditioner- which is Beachwaver’s Stay Strong Reparative Shampoo and Conditioner. Once my hair is washed I apply the Inner strength Avocado Oil Protein Mask and let sit for 10 minutes.

These hair care products have completely changed my hair game!
