Rockin’ Hair for Festival Season

With festival season right around the corner, check out these epic looks that rock enough to make you stage-ready!

Fun Bouncy Curls

FUN BOUNCY CURLS

When you are jumping around in the crowd, don’t you want your hair to have as much bounce as you do? Full bouncy curls can be achieved by using our S.75, Darby Clips, Great Barrier Heat Protectant Hairspray, and Team Texture Dry Finishing Spray.

Step 1: Section your hair into smaller layers using the Darby Clips to create these layered, tight curls.

Step 2: Prep your hair with Great Barrier Heat Protectant Hairspray.

Step 3: Take a 1-inch section of hair, place it in the clamp, rotate, and repeat! To create curls going away from your face, face the clamp towards your cheek and rotate away from your face.

Tip: To create more of a ringlet style curl, insert your hair in the clamp leaving about an inch out, rotate, release the clamp and feed the hair at the bottom through, and rotate again.

Step 4: Continue ‘Step 3’ throughout each layered section.

Step 5: Once your hair is cool to the touch, use your fingers to slightly loosen the curls.

Step 6: Finish the look off with some Team Texture Dry Finishing Spray to add some volume by feathering your hair while spraying the product.

Loose & Textured Waves

Loose & Textured Waves

If you are more of a chill festival-goer looking to match your hairstyle to your chill vibes, this look is great for you! To create loose waves, all you need is Great Barrier Heat Protectant Hairspray, an On-Set Brush, Darby Clips, and S1.25 Beachwaver.

Step 1: Start by using a Darby Clip to section your hair from top to bottom, and then again down the middle for easier access to the back of your head.

Step 2: Prep your hair with some Great Barrier Heat Protectant Hairspray.

Step 3: Start with a 1-inch section of hair from the back, insert your hair in the clamp leaving about an inch out, rotate, and release the clamp. Then create curls going in the opposite direction, alternating piece after piece.

Tip: To create curls going towards your face, make sure the clamp is facing outward before rotating inward towards your face.

Step 4: Allow your curls to cool.

Step 5: Spray the Great Barrier Heat Protectant Hairspray on your On-Set Brush for even distribution and then gently brush the curls into waves.

Wet & Wild

Looking to rock an edgy look this festival season? The wet look has been popular on a lot of runways during New York Fashion Week this past season. To create this look you will need Luxe Leave-in Conditioning Detangler, Prep Brush, Inner Strength Avocado Oil Protein Mask, and Epic Flex Styling Gel

Step 1: Prep the hair by brushing the Luxe Leave-in Conditioning Detangler through the hair with the Prep Brush to smooth and remove any tangles.

Step 2: Apply a hair mask like Inner Strength all over the hair. This will create the “wet hair” effect.

Step 3: Applying a flexible hold gel like Epic Flex Styling Gel throughout the hair can help to maintain the “wet” looking texture while giving the hair some additional hold.

Tip: Use flexible styling products to allow the hair to move and appear more natural for an effortless wet hair look.

Braided buns

Braided Beauty

When I think of festival season, epic braided looks are definitely on the menu! Braid Balm is the perfect product to help you create any braided look! It is a flexible foam that helps to eliminate flyaways to create a smoother braided look. We decided to create boho-esque braided buns!

Step 1: Prep your hair with the Prep Brush to smooth and remove any tangles and part your hair down the middle.

Step 2: Apply Braid Balm to smooth any flyaways and bring the hair together. Make sure to leave pieces out at the front to create a more fun look.

Step 3: Start braiding by following the mantra, “right over middle, left over middle” and tie off with an elastic.

Step 4: Repeat “Step 3” on the other side.

Step 5: Wrap the braid to form a bun by pinning down sections to the base of the head.

Step 6: Use the B1 Ocean Ombre Beachwaver to curl the front pieces.

Sleek flat-ironed hair

Sleek & Simple

A very popular and modern style lately has been sleek flat-ironed hair. To create this look you will need the Coast Pro, Great Barrier Heat Protectant Hairspray, Shine Squad, Prep Brush, and Darby Clips.

Step 1: Section your hair using the Darby Clip.

Step 2: Prep the hair by spraying the section with Great Barrier Heat Protectant Hairspray and brushing through with the Prep Brush to smooth and remove any tangles.

Step 3: Straighten about a 1-inch section of hair by using the Prep Brush to separate and lift the strands, following it with the Coast Pro to begin to flatten the hair starting from root to end. Repeat this through each section.

Step 4: Add shine by spraying Shine Squad on the hair to evenly distribute shine.

Tip: To create more volume at the root, create more of an arch-like motion when starting to flat iron at the root.
