Making Waves on Campus with Rachel De Gaston

In 2019, Beachwaver launched our college ambassador program, the Campus Wave! Each month, campus reps get a box full of Beachwaver goodies to help spread the word about The Beachwaver Co. on their campuses! Below, meet Rachel de Gaston, who is studying at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah!

What is/are your favorite Beachwaver product(s)?

Any 1” Beachwaver and the 3B Waver!

What do you expect to be doing 10 years from now?

Ideally living and traveling in Europe. And of course, taking the cutest photos and making the best memories while we are there!

What is an obstacle you’ve faced, and how did you get through?
I went through three surgeries while I was on my High School Varsity Tennis Team, and had to miss a lot of playing time to recover from each one of them. It was rough and, in a way, it broke my heart to not be able to play, but my coach, thankfully, let me take my crutches and cheer on my team from the side of the court at tournaments. Watching them play and being able to cheer them, also in a way, helped heal my heart. The moment I got back on the court I put more effort and energy into tennis than ever before and I still love the game to this day.

What is your life motto?

“It's always the fear of looking stupid that stops you from being awesome.” ― Kiera Cass, The Selection

What’s the craziest hair trend you ever rocked?

For 4th of July one year my cousin did my hair and it was this crazy awesome firework look!

I'm from Oklahoma, so I'm not quite used to the snow here in Utah! Every time it snows here, I can't help but go outside ... and it snows a lot! Fun facts: I am from somewhere really warm and now I live in a winter wonderland, I love love love playing tennis, and I think I am pretty good at cooking and baking!
